Client/Employer Description: Professional service firm providing accounting, audit, employee benefit plan audits, forensic & litigation, tax planning & preparation, international tax, business valuation, human resource consulting and advisory services to businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individual clients. Five offices w/55 total team members.


Classification: Exempt/Full Time


Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000+ base DOE

Position Description: Handles all types of client engagements appropriate for management level: Efficiently, Delegates as

appropriate, Timely, Professionally. Keep current on all professional pronouncements/tax law as appropriate for their department Communicates effectively all aspects of work performed to clients as appropriate. Displays a high level of professionalism. Earns respect and trust of clients.


Sales ability: Can determine need and sell services. Proficiency in special client services: Projections, Tax Planning, Special niche services, Consulting and analysis. Development of a billing center of 2000-4000 hours.


Planning: Attends pre-planning and planning meetings, Solicits planning information from members if needed. Is aware of status on staff work prior to attending planning.


Supervises/manages staff: Confidently, Professionally. Serves as a role model and mentor and promotes the one firm concept. Manages appropriate due dates. Communicates necessary aspects of work

performed to staff, and/or members as needed. Works with the established budget. Delegates

responsibility for decisions when appropriate. Staff does quality work: Tax returns, Audits, Financial

Statements, Workpapers.


Administrative/Management functions: Recruits qualified staff, Staff evaluations, Reviews hours and dollar budgets, Approves vacation, days off, schedules changes for direct reports, Recognizes and takes corrective action on poor performers, Reviews CPE requests.


Training: Shares knowledge effectively. Explains why items are done a certain way. Effectively uses review notes to train. Mentors staff. Provides timely feedback that is: Positive and Constructive. Encourages Supervisors to provide feedback.


Marketing: Creates opportunities to provide existing clients with new services. Participates in overall marketing plan. Has a written individual marketing plan. Focuses on attracting new business to the firm. Markets the firm through active participation in: Civic, Professional and business organizations. External committees or niche groups. Speaking engagements and presentations. Attends seminars. Writes articles. Effective leadership role in existing and potential client entertainment. Leader in development of new services.


Required Knowledge,

Experience and Skills: CPA is required, Minimum of three years as a supervisor or equivalent. Familiar with applicable accounting software and a Microsoft Windows environment. Strong ability to develop and maintain solid client relationships.  Effectively supervise and manage staff.  Ability to perform work on all levels of engagements with little supervision.  Develops new clients.  Responsibilities are performed personally or through direct reports.
