Client Description: Traditional Accounting/Tax/Audit Firm (60mm+ Annual Collections) They offer a broad range of services including external auditing, accounting, income tax, consulting, internal auditing, and management advisory services.


Classification: Exempt/Full Time


Title: Tax Manager


Compensation: $140,000 - $175,000 base + Bonus DOE


Position Description: Our Client is looking for an organized manager who can produce high-quality work while maintaining strong relationships with our current clients in the Rockville market. The ability to manage multiple priorities, make decisions and take initiative while staying focused on results and the performance objectives of this job is a must. Staff development skills, ability to lead a team of professionals by example while also possessing solid time management skills are important as well.


Required Knowledge,

Experience and Skills: Manage various phases of an engagement including staff requirements, client meetings, and job

planning and scheduling with the manager or partner


                                         Routinely assume full responsibility for directing engagements and special assignments


                                         Act as the lead production contact with clients during the engagement


                                         Training of other technical staff and manage direct reports as needed


                                         Complete preparation of more complex tax returns, reviewing easy to medium returns and researching                                             technical issues


                                         Aid business development with clients and non-clients to expand our practice, and beginning to develop                                           prospects


                                         Learns and upholds the firm’s expectations for work quality and professional development as well as the                                           firm’s cultural and core values


                                         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, Master’s Degree preferred


                                         CPA certification required with a minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience

                                         Strong working knowledge of tax law and other professional standards/regulations


                                         Experience preparing less complex returns for S-Corporations, C-Corporations, LLC’s, Partnerships, high                                           wealth individuals, consolidated or multi-state returns and nonprofits
